Ain't Dere No More....The much beloved Circle Bar on what was formerly known as Lee Circle. I painted this from photos I took there long ago while listening to friends play. One of my first visits to New Orleans, an especially long time ago, included a really fun, really rowdy evening at the Circle Bar. Such fond memories and I'm sure lots of locals feel the same about one of New Orleans' long ago iconic dive bars!

It is an antique photograph in its original antique frame with bubble glass of her great great grandfather- early 1900s. She offered it to me since her family had 2 of them& gave me permission to paint it as I wished. I immediately knew what I would do with it!
