Saint Joseph Day is March 19th. It is a Sicilian tradition dating back to the #middleages and St Joseph Altars can be visited all over the city of New Orleans on St Joseph Day. My paintings of them are done from my own hundreds of photos I take when visiting them. This one has some unexpected & nontraditional offerings in it-just for fun!

It is an antique photograph in its original antique frame with bubble glass of her great great grandfather- early 1900s. She offered it to me since her family had 2 of them& gave me permission to paint it as I wished. I immediately knew what I would do with it!
